Traditions.

Growing up we did lots of fun things for our birthdays. Played games, had friends over, ate cake. One of my favorite things to do was sing. I love to sing. I am pretty lousy at singing however. Maybe lousy is not a strong enough word. Awful. When I met my husband and attended a birthday party imagine how excited I was to discover their birthday tradition. They sing a very special birthday surprise. I fit in! I can sing with these people.
We have sung in restaurants before. It is always oddly quite when we finish. Now we mostly sing Happy Birthday in parking lots to avoid the rapid escape needed after.
I must admit my favorite thing is the look on the faces of people who have been unsuspectingly been invited to the party. The shock and surprise just kills me. Also I love how every single baby in our family has cried, at their own party. Poor Babies.

Spring Picnic At the Digby's and the signs we are sent...

My in laws live on 5 acres in Wilsonville. It is a beautiful place to have picnics, birthday parties and gatherings.  A nice family oriented place with a play structure and sand area, lovingly maintained by a traditional English gardener(my father in law). Imagine my surprise in discovering this!

My mother in law thinks all of nature is beautiful and reminds me that some people feel fortunate when the image of Jesus shows up in their soup. Perhaps it is a sign of fertility and men & women from all over the world will want to come and sit upon it and she'll have to eventually charge admission to cover the expense. Like the people who's sweat stain looks like Jesus have had too.
Perhaps it is a sign of fertility, a sign that we should have another baby? That someone we know will get pregnant today, the very day the symbol was discovered! Who knows. I had my husband rub it just in case. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Red is the new Black. For little dresses that is....

Check out those legs. Hot Hot HOT. My Fave it the super sexy stance, without even trying.

Darren quickly found a new girlfriend at the dance. OOOOps I mean boyfriend. Hard to tell eh?

Outside Papa Hadens in Sellwood. The lady at the table next to us nearly choked on her pate when she saw him sit down next to them I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants. I think it took big balls to go to dinner in a red dress.
Another punch in Darren's dance card. Scary. I thought for sure my husband would have better taste in men.

Sleepover Madness....

The Marriot downtown has and irresistible deal. $45 bucks a night and it includes a full hot buffet breakfast that you can go down and get. Then you can fool your children into thinking that they are getting room service. Add to that the fact they have a pool and you have a smoken' deal and the recipe for a ridiculously fun time. Romsies and her girlies joined us on our adventure.

It took Lily all of 10 seconds to bust out with this smile...Good grief they are cute!
Haddie was not so crazy about the whole swimming in a pool idea at first. Naturally by the time she was giggling with delight the camera battery had died. So we are left with only the evidence of terror.
Three Peas in a Pod. The loved getting to ride the street car, which was fantastically convenient as it went right to the the Burrito place, the Cupcake place, Ice cream shop, the Convenience store(for cookies and chips) and back to the hotel. My husband did field about 10 phone calls to get us addresses, hours and stops for all of those places, but he does work at a help desk. We needed help. After stuffing the kids full of junk and quarts of sugar and swimming for hours we managed to get them all to sleep. It only lasted a brief while but it was sure sweet while it lasted!
What a cutie. There is something so fun about vegging out in a hotel, eating in bed and jumping on their furniture

Easter Shenanigans

I love the newness of spring. The itch and burn of my nose and eyes as the pollen spews forth from the snot causing flowers and grass. Amazing.

My in laws have sheep. Lots and lots of sheep and one lone llama. Anna my sister in law to be (whom I incidentally like alot), got one of the babies much to the dismay of the bleating lamb mommy for Katie to hold. Katie then declined as my insano baby is afraid of a baby lamb. Wild eh?

We had a great Easter, egg hunts and candy. Gorging ourselves on super yummy food and some hi jinks
Now my mother and father in law are very upright and moral, which is what makes this particular behavior on her part super amusing to me. They live close the street of dreams 2005 and these houses are amazing if huge and gynormous are your thing. And your a bigillonaire. So we go for a walk through this neighborhood, if you call one gated house after another a neighborhood, to look and see how the houses are coming along. We've been trompsing through these houses while they were under construction and accessible to nosey wanderers for a while now. So when my mother in law broke into this Mediterranean mansion I was amazed. I waited at the top as I do not engage in illegal activities or those that are morally wrong. The following pics are of them running after the burglar alarm went off and the gun turrets popped up.

On another note I did fall in love with this majestic giant house. It is so big that my house would fit in the over the garage quarters. This house is 10,000 square feet and has an awesome pool. Darren climbed the fence into the back yard. I could see him through the foyer of this massive house. I have boldly decided to make an offer on this house. It is on the market for $2,700,000.00. I know that is alot of money but I figure how much can it hurt to make an offer? I will offer the top of what I feel comfortable spending $350,000.00 I am hopeful that they will accept my offer and before long I will be blogging from my mega mansion. One that we have not broken into and wandered about, unless you count hoping a fence and looking in windows and climbing a few balconies.
